As part of the Cherry Blossom Festival, you can explore three stunning walks at your own pace while the blossoms are in full bloom.

Whether you’re looking for a peaceful walk, a photography session, or a serene moment in nature, this is your chance to experience some of the Cherry Blossom best spots in Richmond!

Please keep each other and the Cherry Blossoms safe! Admire the flowers and trees, but please do not touch.

 

Choose Your Park & Stroll When It’s Right for You:

Flexibility: There’s no set time—simply visit anytime the blossoms are in bloom, giving you the freedom to explore at your own pace.

Self-Guided Experience: Enjoy the stroll on your own or with friends and family. We’ve curated the perfect cherry blossom spots for you to enjoy without the need for scheduled times or group sizes.

Capture the Moment: Take photos, relax, and enjoy the sights, sounds, and smells of the blooming cherry trees. It’s a perfect opportunity to soak in nature’s beauty on your own schedule.

Minoru Park, 0.7 km

Immerse yourself in a quiet and tranquil park, where majestic cherry trees create a canopy of blossoms perfect for a peaceful stroll and serene lakeside views.

The Cherry trees are located primarily around the Lake and Chapel area.

You can find free parking at the Richmond Cultural Centre and the Minoru Centre for Active Living.

Steveston Village, 2.5 km

A lively and vibrant location, where you can enjoy the beauty of the blossoms alongside a lively atmosphere and beautiful village sights.

There are many clusters of Cherry Trees to be found along the trails of Steveston Community Park and through Steveston Village.

The main areas to explore for photo opportunities in Steveston Village include:

  • The southwest corner of Moncton Street and No. 1 Road around the Tram Building.
  • The main, internal trail through the park, north of Steveston Community Centre and ball diamond.
  • The east side of the main, internal trail near the Steveston “Wye” trail end.
  • North edge of Steveston Community Park at Yoshida Court.
  • Along the south edge of the park on Moncton Street, east of Bayview Street.
  • A smaller cluster at the east end of Chatham Street, east of the parking lot, near the Steveston Park Tennis Courts.
  • The Gulf of Georgia Cannery area at 3rd Avenue and Moncton Street, then walk north west to 4th Avenue just south of Chatham Street.

Although parking is limited, you can find free parking across the street from the Steveston Community Centre.

Hamilton Neighbourhood Park, 1.0 km

A park offering an intimate cherry blossom experience with a shorter walking path.

In the Hamilton neighbourhood, there are a couple of pockets of Cherry trees for viewing and potential photography opportunities. These areas include: 

  • The north edge of Hamilton Community Park along Gilley Road, east of the community centre parking lot.
  • For an extended walk, there are more Cherry trees a short stroll away at Hamilton VLA park, located at the intersection of Willett Avenue and Smith Crescent.

Although parking is limited, you can find free parking at the Hamilton Community Centre.
